"Perception can be elusive. We walk through life, taking for granted our surroundings, when suddenly our attention is captured. You have traveled this path a hundred times before, but today you stop because elements have come together as if by chance and presented themselves in a way that cannot be ignored. It's a happy synchronous moment where light, weather, time of day, and time of year have come together - creating shapes and spaces, causes and effects impacting on our subconscious and conscious mind. Nature presents spectacles that seem, at first, impossible - a colour that could not possibly be there; light that comes from where? If the conditions are right, anything can exist.
In my work I build relationships between all these elements: a push and pull of light, of space and structure, creating an interplay which secures the existence of what has been presented." (deMooy, 2009)
